Altavista is located on US-29 in south central Virginia. We are situated at the base of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on the majestic Staunton River. Altavista is easily accessible from anywhere in the state.

From Washington D. C.: Travel on I 66W to the Gainesville/Warrenton exit. Take US-29 south toward Lynchburg. Continue on US-29 south for approximately 165 miles. The first Altavista exit, Business 29, will take you on to Main St. and our central business district.

From Richmond: Take US 360-W toward Amelia. At Amelia, take VA-307 to the right toward Farmville. When you reach US-460 W, turn right and follow this road approximately 55 miles to Concord where you will turn left on VA-24 W. Stay on US-24 W approximately 25 miles to US-29 S. Travel 9 miles to the Business 29 exit which leads into Main Street and our central business district.

From Danville: Travel north on US-29 approximately 40 miles to the VA-43 exit where you will turn right. This road becomes Bedford Ave., following it for 2 miles will take you onto Main Street.

From Roanoke: Travel US-460 E approximately 50 miles to Lynchburg and US-29 S. Travel US-29 S approximately 20 miles to Altavista Business 29 exit and onto Main Street.
